Where can I get my hands on some Chrome plated hardware? I would like all but the tune heads. I?m In Scotland UK a cost would be great as well. At this point I would like to wish all Alembic?s a merry Xmas and Great playing NEW YEAR!!!

I'm guessing you could send your hardware to Alembic and they could have their plater do the work.  Give Val a call for a quote.  I'm also guessing that you could get an idea of the cost by going to the quote generator and seeing what the difference is between polished brass and chrome plated hardware ($600); although I would guess the cost would be more since the brass would need to be cleaned up first, saddles smoothed out, etc.  But I'm just guessing, give Val a call for a quote if you're looking to do this.

We do need the bass for fitting the parts. Since 1988, the brass saddles and nut have likely worn in, and it's much preferable to have the hardware in its optimum condition before plating.

Sending new parts plated but unslot is not a good option either. The chrome is so hard, that a normal file will not cut through.

Our chrome plater is local and will usually turn around a job in a day or two. If you were visting the wine country someday, you could drop your bass off first, then in a couple of later you could pick it up outfitted as you want.

After listening to some Gentle Giant, I?m now planning to come and visit you guys and designing my optimum bass. I realise what I require is no ordinary Spoiler, that?s no bad thing. Just perfection will do. Time scale, well I ?m 32 years old and have been playing bass for half my life self taught in all. Im prepared to take my time and plan my demise to Alembic Greatness.  Money will be an additive to my downfall. Mica I?m glad we have people like your self who is so committed to bass and Alembic that every thread I read is euphorically correct to the question.
I?m only new to the Alembic field but I?m looking forward to being educated and satisfied with the knowledge going around.
