Good stuff! Just wondering where these pics came from. I think the short scale bass pictured is a bass I used to own. It was a bass that was sent back to Alembic in 1984 for some repairs. It was a 1978, serial number 1168. Purpleheart top and back and real sweet. It now is a fretted instrument.

Cool!!
What instrument is picture 7 showing the control cavity?
And I'm guessing picture 8 is an attempt to cut down on weight.
-
Great stuff! Where did you find these jems? Keep em comming.
-
...and very interesting to hava a Moonstone guitars poster on the wall in the background.... :-)

These pictures came with an article in the Dutch magazine Music Maker. It's the only older copy I've got of this magazine, when I was 14 years old I kind of stole it from my uncle because of the Alembic article. Since I bought that 1977-778 Series-1 a few weeks ago I am totally into Alembic again. I knew I had this magazine somewhere and found it today. The article is in Dutch so I just posted the pictures.
Have fun!!

Marc,
Can you provide a synopsis of the article in English for those of us that are linguistically challenged?

I will try to translate the article in English for you, but please give me some time.

That's great! Thanks Marc...that's very considerate of you.
What a cool article...if you could post it in it's natural state as well, people like me with extremely poor German-language skils could have fun trying to read Dutch/Flemish, LOL! FWIW, I was able to make out most of what's visible in the pix...it's fun trying!
Cheers,
Kevin

Marc,
If you scan the article, and email some of it, maybe I could give you a hand translating the lot. It would be a good practice :-)

Yeah, Marc,
I would like to chime in. I grew up at the east side of Dollart in Lower Saxony, but I may have enough experience too to translate (part of) the article. Just set things in motion, we'll be right there !

Marc ...ik neem vrijdag 30 wel een stukkie mee om te vertalen!

You're going up North, Paul? Watch the snow, my man!
-
Yep ...coming to Groningen, looking forward to snow! And the midnight fireworks in the street. It has been some time.
Visiting Edwin's new store in our way up!
I hope I can bring Bonnie, Chi and A with me to visit Marc like he asked. I guess you can join???
I'll be reachable on my mobile (see profile)
