What a beautiful bass! Everything about it is so clean and functional. Congratulations!

Very cool top. The simplicity of the bass sis its appeal. I bet its a dream to play.

Lets hear it for Ash!
And the rest of it is nice too.

As a fellow fretless Orion owner, may I say congratulations! Orions are just plain fun to play; light weight, well balanced, and big sound (all without breaking the bank).
Great top wood, and nice choice of electronics....
Best of luck,
Chris

Thanks folks. I've been very happy with it and glad I went ahead and ordered it last summer. Needless to say I was surprised and honored when I saw the note from Mica. I would also like to re-thank the people who shared their thoughts and pictures on ghost frets when I was still trying to decide.

Fantastic looking bass. I imagine it sounds every bit as good as it looks.

Nice custom! You'll love having the electronics setup you have! Being able to precisely tweak the bass and treble in addition to the filter and Q options greatly enhances precision control over sound.
What is the range of your bass and treble controls? Is it +/- 12 dbs or +6 to -12 -or something else? My understanding is that the standard Epic/Orion controls cut to 12 but only boost to 6 dbs.
Since I spec'ed my custom bass with bass and treble knobs -for each pickup- I'm always interested when I see others spec their instruments with both these AND the filter/Q system.
Mine go +/- 12 dbs. I'm just curious about the other Alembic customs that have the knobs and/or the EMW setup. What range of boost cut do other players have? I find I rarely use the treble for more than a little, but I frequently max out the bass control(s) -especially on the neck pickup- to the max -and the full 12 db bass boost is awesome!
Anyway, nice custom, and I salute your taste in electronics!
