I've just found a site for a company that specialises in knobs, control knobs that is ermm.
www.thgknobs.com (http://www.thgknobs.com)
What I need to know is what size bore etc, for my SC deluxe bass.
I fancy some nice hardwood ones, the plastic top hat ones seem a bit out of place some how.

Just tell Roger what bass you need the knobs for; he'll send the right ones;here's mine on my Stanley & my short scale Series 1

An example of Roger's recent work:

Roger's making me cocobolo hat knobs with gold MOP markers for my Custom Further. Lots of people around here use him. He's very friendly, takes Paypal and will ship directly to Alembic. How easy can it get?

He offers a lot of choice with regard to wood, but there's no pictures of the samples.
My bass has a quilted maple front, so I was looking for a darker wood as a contrast.

Kevin:
My cocobolo knobs are going on an amber tinted 5A quilted maple top.

Hi
I was thinking of going for cocobola, the finish on mine is quite light though, there's a picture of it in the gallery.
Perhaps one of the rosewoods would look nice.

I've talked to Roger about making an ebony and spalted maple set of collete looking knobs for my fretless.

Roger made some nice knobs for my Warwick:

Roger did awesome gold-inlayed quilt top-hat knobs for my custom Orion (here on the FTC thread and shown on his site gallery), great MOP inlayed cocobolo knobs for my custom Straub Cantus amp head (shown on the club site and on Harry Straub's website), cool MOP-inlayed quilt and ebony mini-knobs for my blonde Heritage Golden Eagle jazz box pickguard-mounted P/U and controls, and is currently constructing custom hippie sandwich top-hats for my Series I std. point bodied bass as I write this.
He is pricey, but the work is first-rate and Roger is cool to deal with.
I'm considering a custom MOP-inlayed ebony strip to replace the craptastic black plastic OEM item on my gold-plated brass H floating tailpiece as well.
Cheers,
Kevin

Roger recently created a forum on his site. I made the first posting of an Alembic guitar in the guitar area. Who's going to be the first to post an Alembic bass there?

Part of my Dragon's Wing is already posted in the Gallery and has been for about 2 years. Look closely.
