According to the Alembic (http://www.alembic.com/family/foreign_dealers.html) site, the only Canadian dealer is in Montreal.

Christian:

If I can offer some unsolicited advice, having been a married man for almost 5 years now, DON'T go guitar shopping on your honeymoon.  If you buy anything, it will ultimately wind up as the most expensive instrument you will ever buy!  Even if you don't buy anything, it will still cost you a fortune in the long run (maybe not in actual dollars, but you will still pay)!  LOL

Congrats on the upcoming nupitals.

Bill, tgo

The importer in Canada is in Montreal, but Steve's Music does have locations in Toronto and Ottawa. Bill, you offer good advice!

bumhucker, LISTEN to Bill!

Buy HER something extraordinary first . . . THEN you can buy your axe in peace on HER clear conscience.  Not married 25 years for nothing!

Steves is located on Queen Street, so if you drop off your wife at Tiffany's on Bloor, then take the subway to Queen, that may work!!!
Although not an Alembic dealer, you can also stop by Club Bass.
Anyway congrats on the wedding. Hope you enjoy our great city.

Thanks everyone!  I'm stoked to see Toronto.  I'll check out steve's and Club Bass.

And Thanks for the advice--I am starting to see how it works.  Man, they got us trained don't they?

I already have an Excel on order so I would be looking more than anything-maybe for a future bass.

thanks again!

Hey,
I live and Toronto and bought my alembic at cosmos music. Unfortunaely they dont stock Alembics, they just happened to have one used. But they do have a descent selection of Fenders some modulus', warwicks and maybe some smiths. You can check them out on the internet.

Enjoy Toronto, its a great city. congrats

Steve's in Toronto didn't have any Alembics on display when I was last there. Throughout the 90's, they always had a few behind glass, along with some other high-end instruments, but lately it seems like they just stock things that you would find anywhere else - just more of it.  Long & McQuade (Ossington subway stop) is worth checking out, as is the used SongBird (Queen West; take a streetcar west after you're done at Steve's).

Steve's doesn't display them in the store anymore - but they occasionally have one around, if you ask.
