Hi,
I have a single coil set for guitar ( 3 pickups). I bought it on ebay a while ago and now I'd like to put it on one of my guitars.
It is composed by the pickups and 2 pots, a bigger and a smaller one.
I don't have any literature with them, is it possible to get some schematics/instructions ?
thanks a lot,
Luca

Hello, Luca. I don't have the info, but I am sure someone else will be able to answer your question. Welcome. Good Luck!

One should be Volume and the other Filter. There should probably have been a five-way selector switch as well. Do you have a picture of what you have?

Hi Dave,
here is the picture, finally.
Please let me know what I've got....
Thanks for your help !
my best,
luca

Hopefully someone who has one of these kits in their strat can tell you what you need to do. If you're putting this in a strat, you can probably use the existing 5-way switch; and I'm guessing you would attach the pickup leads to the switch in the same way the current pickups are attached. I'm guessing the grey wire coming from the PC board also attaches to the 5-way switch. There should be two leads going to the battery, but I don't know which those would be. I also have no idea which leads go to the 1/4 jack.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Does anyone have any tip for me ?
I'd like to be sure the luthier has all the pieces he needs to mount these pickups in the correct way.
For what I see, I just miss the battery connection, the 5 pos. switch and the output jack.
Is there something else I'd need ?
Also, on the pickups there are no signs about their position, does this mean they are all the same and they can stay in all positions ( neck/mid/bridge) ?
thanks a lot,
luca

Luca:
Call Alembic, ask for Mica or Valentino. Heck, you're from Italy - ask for Valentino! You'll get all the info you need. If calling isn't an option, try posting this quesiton in the Troubleshooting part of the Owning an Alembic section.

The pickups are all the same.

Hi Luca,
This has been modified so much, that it's hard to tell what's what in this picture. I think we'll be able to help you get this old Activator up and running, but I need another picture.
Unplug the 3-pin connector, and arrange it so I can see these wires clearly:

The 2-pin connector on the filter board goes to the 5-way switch. All the pickups are the same, except the wire lengths.
These electronics have really been mistreated. All splices are suspect, and I would have them redone with shrink tubing when you reinstall.

Hi,
tell me if this view is giving you the details you need.
thanks for your help,

Black: to the sleeve contact of the output jack
Purple: to the tip contact of the output jack
White/Red: to the battery + (red battery wire)
The black battery wire is connected to the ring contact of the output jack.
The reason we use the Switchcraft LITTEL jack model 12 is that it has to fit in the body of the instrument where the original mono jack mounts on the angled plate.
The 2-pin connector from the filter goes to the pickup selector switch. Note that the shield of this wiring cannot be connected to ground.
When you install in your guitar, make sure the cavity and the underside of the pickguard is completely shielded. When you install the electronics, the system will automatically ground. There is no ground wire to the bridge.
