Title: Visit to Alembic
Post by: alemberic on October 05, 2006, 12:20:19 PM
Greetings, all

I'll be visiting the Mothership this coming Monday, 10-9.  If anyone would like me to check on the progress of their builds and/or repairs or modifications, or obtain any other information, I'd be glad to see what I can find out. Just let me know on or before Sunday!

Regards--

Eric

Eric,

If you can get an update on my Exploiter Custom, that would be great.  They hadn't started the build process as of the middle of August, but may have by now, I don't know.  Pics would be great if you could get them.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

I just want to know if my 6-string balance K is in the setup room or still waiting forlornly in the hall.

Hi everyone

My wife and I had a fantastic visit yesterday.  The purpose of the visit was to take a look at the burst finish Bob applied to my Orion before he applies the final clear coats.  All I can say is Bob hit a home run--absolutely what I had in mind, and all the more wonderful to see it in person! It is so impressive--and these days, rare--to deal with folks who listen to and truly understand what the customer desires, and then go all out to make it happen, at an unsurpassed level of quality and attention to detail.  Everyone at Alembic is truly committed to getting it right; you can see and feel this committment.

My official business was actually concluded in the space of a few minutes, but Mica was very gracious and kind in spending quite a while talking with us and showing us some interesting things. We also met Bill, who is helping out while Valentino is on vacation.

For the three fellow Alembicians who asked for information...IMHO there's a bit of a fine line here between getting the info and (unintentionally) stepping on an FTC thread, so I played things kind of low-key.  Sooo...

Austin--sorry, but I wasn't able to catch any glimpse of your Classico.

Alan--I understand Mica is going to provide a lot of info and pics of the Exploiter in the very near future--much more than I could ever hope to get for you--so I'm gonna defer to her.

Bradley--your Balance K is indeed in the hall, but she's not forlorn at all, she's very happy--she's got plenty of friends to talk to :-D  Mica said they're just about ready to begin experimenting with the wood-etching process.

Joe--you didn't ask for anything, but I did see your completed all-walnut axe.  It's a very handsome instrument and looks great.

Bill tgo--I know you're a frequent visitor to the mothership, so you're well aware of what's going on with your build.  I just wanted to say the fretboard inlays, as well as the inlay on the back of the headstock, look very cool.  I especially like the Cali-centric globe on the fretboard.

Whew--sorry for the long post--I'd better finish now.

Regards--Eric

Eric:

Fun ain't it?  I don't think I'll ever take for granted the benefit of living just down the road from Santa Rosa.  Thanks for the update.
