I have 2 1997 Epic 5 String basses and a 1976 Fender Precision. I wouldn't trade any of these basses for anything. I am using a Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II running bi-amped through a Gallien Krueger 410 RBH and 115 RBH. The tone is the best that I have ever had but it's still not quite what I am looking for. It seems that everytime I see a band whose bass sound I love the bassist is using either Eden or EBS. I am considering switching to an Eden 800 head with an Eden 410 and 115 or an EBS rig. Seeing how Alembic is such a high end bass I figured that many of you are also using high end amps. What do you recommend?
Thanks

I use an Ampeg PRO-V head (I don't think they sell that model anymore) through an Ampeg 4X10 plus horn bottom. I run it bridged which gives me over 1,300 WTS of power at 4 ohms. Lots of head room and all the tone I could ever want. The only bad thing is it's heavy ... but the sound is worth it.

At the moment I don't have a high power rig. I have a Mesa Boogie 300w walkabout, a 2x10 and a1 x15 cab with horns.
After reading many testimonials on using separates for power and pre-amps. I'm in the process of upgrading my amp.
I have so far got my F-1X and an SF-2 and saving for a QSC PLX 1804 amp to drive the speakers.

Kevin; there have been many threads here discussing pretty much every brand of amp and speaker. I would imagine you could find lots of useful information by running a search on a particular brand. For instance you mentioned Eden, and there have been numerous threads on Eden amps and cabs, including some interesting reviews of the differences between XST's and XLT's.

If your planing on auditioning Eden I would like to recommend the 4/10 XLT in combination with a 2/10 XLT(placed on top of 4/10) OR 2/10 XST (placed on the bottom with 4/10 on top).I've been very pleased everytime I've plugged into any Eden equipment. I personally own 1 4/10 XLT and 2 2/10 XLT'S(besides a lot of every body else's stuff).I've found the 115 XLT to be a very smooth sounding cab with a 500 head. But my opinion is that it wouldn't keep up with the 4/10 volume wise. To each his/her own ears.

This a great link I think, you can hear, watch and enjoy, and good variety of styles as well. You see what Bill Clements can do with one hand!
I like Bailey's speech, because it reminds me of myself, the way I would express feelings, with excitement and passion, this guy is a Funk brother;) Although most of the time people must think I am weirdo when I tell them the things I say, the way I say it lol So, it was nice to see that Victor fidgeting about it and going in deep expression mode
