Title: Cutoff frequency for filters
Post by: terryc on October 24, 2006, 08:12:33 AM
Has any one read the above subject dated back to June 2005??
I tell you to the simple persons like me it is astounding that so much research has been done into getting the tone.
I have had to read it about a dozen times to get the theory in my head and draw a few diagrams to visualise it but where Leo invented the electric bass(the bass players of the world owe him so much) then Ron W has taken it to warp factor 10.
It is heavy reading and very very technical, maybe beyond most people unless you have a degree in physics or acoustics but it certainly is worth the while in reading it.
Don't suppose it would leap into your brain when you suddenly have to change tone to suit the next song though!!!!

Yes, that thread is referenced in the Must Reads (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=291) section.  One of my favorites.
