I might be buying a P style activator, but will it work without a pre amp and if it won't work without a preamp will a Fender preamp do the trick?
I've contacted the seller and asked if it's working and he claims that if he ticks on the pickup (not installed in a bass currently) it's as loud as any pickup...

You need a built-in preamp: there isn't much signal coming out of the low impedance pickup, and the low impedance doesn't match the high impedance of signal cords. If you're thinkking of dropping them into an active Fender bass - you probably won't do any harm by trying, but it may not be a good match.

Well I guess my Fender preamp won't match... I removed it recently and replaced it with two on/off switches (for the P/J pickups)
The Fender pickups are really loud without the preamp, much louder than my Alembics...
The price of the Alembic pickup is very tempting (I bet you've noticed it) So I might just go for it. Maybe someday I will be able to buy some Alembic guts...
Thanx!
Edit: Hoeveel snoepjes heb jij nog over?

This pickup will go in my Fender (If I can get sound from it and if it sounds right) Hope it arrives early next week...
