Title: Warwick's answer to Alembic's "Dragon" bass?

I guess they have an attitude of You did an instrument with roughly the same looks as our John Entwistle Buzzard with your 'Dragon' bass, now let us issue an instrument similar to your John Entwistle Spyder bass. So that makes us even.

Warwick bought the rights on the name John Entwistle in combination with musical instruments and also on the Buzzard design. They are advertising the Buzzard and the above Stryker strongly as fully supported by the Entwistle estate. Numerous discussions about this have been done on several forums in the past. I played a Stryker last year at the Frankfurt Music Fair and it was very ugly, nearly unplayable with a neck wide and thick like a hockey stick. In the meantime they changed this headstock to the Buzzard headstock to have the bass look a bit more smooth. But for me, no rival for an Alembic. Never...

Multi-laminate maple neck with walnut pinstripes, oval fret markers and an Alembic shape.  Pure coincidence I say!    
 
I own an early '92 Warwick Corvette (bought new) and it is a nice bass - they still made them well then, but when you walk into GC these days, the stuff with Warwick on the headstock is pretty shoddy compared to the early instruments.  Lotsa sizzle, lots less steak.  Don't know if the higher end instruments have fallen off as well.
 
And didn't Susan actually come up with the Dragon Wing design before Warwick came out with the Buzzard?
