Just thought I'd post this here, where more people might notice - a nice 5 minute video on building Alembics (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=352) starring Mica!
-
That is very cool. Is that Stephen J on the soundtrack too?
-
Yes, Stephen does all the music for the Futures Channel. It's all original scores. I think he did a great job with the music. He's playing a Ziricote Stanley Clarke Deluxe bass.
Glad you liked it!
-
Mica, you're a star! Fun video.
Bill, tgo
-
That was great! Mica, it's great to actually see you instead of just reading your posts.
Steven's bass playing is lovely.

Great job Mica, you seemed very comfortable in front of the camera... I would have froze and stuttered for five minutes... Oh yeah, that coco bolo Dragon Wing is killing me! I want one!
-
Just watched it. It's an excellent video with some really lovely instruments.
Mica, do you have another career emerging as a presenter? :-)
I know Americans say this about us Brits but... I'm gonna get in first....You have a lovely accent
Is there anyway to get a copy of that clip?
All the best
Jazzyvee.

Hi Mica,
That was great...very interesting and instructive.
I really enjoyed brief tour of Alembic factory, and recognized how you build custom basses and guitars.
Thanks for sharing, Mica.

yes the video was just a treat, what else can you say. i just visited the factory in july and it was like being there again(except that i couldnt play one for a bit of fun).great presentation mica, very much. i'm glad that you mentioned that was a ziricote stanley clarke. whats the story behind ziricote? its an expensive top that no one really chats about. can you fill us in on where its from and tonal characteristics. always been curious about this pretty brown wood
-
That was a lot of fun, thanks for sharing it. And Mica, I hope neither you MR. Thomas minds me saying, you're quite a cutie-pie! Great presence and charisma!
Oh, and I also should be added to the list of people that are curious about Ziricote.
-
Okay, fess up - who's the wise guy specifying nut width in inches, and bridge width in millimeters?
Very classy production, great performances all around.
-
That was great to see. BTW, is Stephen J the same as Steve Jay who plays bass with Weird Al?
Rich
-
That is the same Steve Jay.
-
Terrific speaking voice, kid . . . if this guitar bidness doesn't work out (!), you should do voice overs or be on radio. Your voice is so very pleasant. Here's to ya, cutie pie, you've always been a star to me ! !
Chuck, just think: If this had been shot at Gibson, you could now be PLAYING a blooper!
