This just may be the most awesome Alembic ever!
The beauty is in a class by itself!!!
WOW!!!
-
Elegant, classy, and perhaps the prettiest Coco Bolo ever.....
Nicely done, Scott...congratulations on your new addition.
-
Congratulations Scott. This was one of my favourite builds in the FTC threads. I love the body shape.

I'll have to second that Graeme!

That wood combined with all the other luxurious components just looks the absolute end in basses.
The shape of the top horn will certainly help it balance nice on the strap.
The heart omega is really good, to think it is all done by hand, the symmetry is perfect, the veneers are mouth watering, the gold breathtaking, the top laminate is exhilerating...I am running out of descriptives here!!!!!!!
Beautiful bass...very envious of you Scott but well done.

This Explaines why Alembic is the 'ultamite' in Custom Made Electric Guitars!
-
Oh man, that's a knock-out, Scott!
Enjoy her,
Reid

My question is...
What is the back plate at the bottom of the neck for?

Scott:
Congrats! If it plays even half as nice as it looks, you've got one heckuva bass! May you make beautiful music together for many years to come.

Congrats Scott! Another molten lava Alembic to join Pele; welcome to the club! Love the body; wood is outrageous.

JP:
All Series instruments have a compartment there to hold two 9v batteries. The Series uses an 18v system, thus the need for two batteries.

Guess I show my ignorance here, the large plate in the control cavity, the plate at the bottom of the neck is for the batteries, what is the other plate covering?? seperate pre amp unit??
I cannot stop looking at this bass, MIca said there are only a few samples left of this wood, maybe we should all be saving up or buying lottery tickets in the hope one of us can get a bass built with the same wood as this..I love the contours, how it shows all the laminates.
I bet the ebony in the neck makes the fundemental go on for an eternity!!!
Envy envy!!!!!

Is there an error in the electronics description??
Its says 'Side mounted jacks' when they are both on the front??
also what are the two toggle switches for extra Q & Led on/off
-
Had to chime in on this one...I only have 2 words for this bass...
UN BELIEVABLE
Alembic remains true to form. The best there is!!!

Having done QA to, and shipped this instrument, I have to say it is even more gorgeous in real life.
No Photo can do justice to the top. Its complexity can only be appreciated in person. Even then it's helpful to isolate your field of view, because it will hypnotize you as your eye is forced to slide around the bubbles.
The back, the way the grain washes through the hour glass into bubbles floored me.
I spent extra time with this instrument, really wanting to do the wood justice.
This bass was no more made by Alembic than doctors make the babies they deliver or archaeologists make the bones they dig up. This wood has been becoming a bass from the time it was a seedling, to the realization of its dream as Scott's bass.
And yes, it sounds nice.

Ooops! Now you know I edit the preivous month's HTML to make the new ones. I've made the correction in the specifications.
-
Very elegant!
-
Very nice would be a gross understatement! It's hard to think it but, I believe the they've just upped the 'anty' on this one. And after seeing it, the choice to leave the inlay off was a wise choice. Absolutely stunning.
Congrats Scott
