Title: Dimensions of a large standard body?
Post by: jlpicard on April 15, 2005, 02:06:12 PM
Can anyone tell me the overall width of a large standard body and also the standard size balance point? It will help me to make a template to scale to place over pictures in the wood bank in order to better visualise the grain pattern on my bass. Thanks, Mike

My '88 standard point measures 15 3/8 at its widest point.  That's on a 4 sting neck through with the narrow taper.  My '77 measures 15 1/8.  I also have what I think is a balance point which is 15 3/4.  However, it has a five string wide taper set neck.
