The May Featured Custom won't be posted for few days more. I've been rescuing 2 very young orphaned kittens, so I haven't had my normal evening time to work on the website. This delay will be extended a little - because in one hour I'll be at the oral surgeon to get the dreaded wisdom teeth extracted. Hopefully I'll feel like sitting in front of my computer at home before I feel like coming back to the office.
Thanks for your patience on this - I will get it finished up and posted as soon as I can.
-
Mica, when I had my wisdom teeth removed, it was soup and milk shakes for a week, take note, Taco Bell,s pintos and cheese saved me from soup and shakes all week , it's not all that bad having your wisdom removed
David T
PS; thanks for saving the kittens
-
1. Do NOT suck on straws.....
2. Post pics of the kittens instead of the bass
3. Get well soon and good luck
-
Ack - I've been putting that off a few years. I am not looking forward to it.
Take care!
-
Mica,
The best advice I can offer is to not attempt stoicism. Just take the pain killers, preferably *before* you're in big time pain.
Brad
-
Too bad you're soo far away~ I give good smoothie.
definitely post some pics of the kittens.... here's one from the litter I rescued back in the fall~

take 2 vicodin and put the cartoon channel on...
-
wisdom tooth extraction is a great diet. i lost 30lbs once
-
Seems like dental work is happening to everyone I know. Tomorrow I get my crown installed. Good thing too, as the temporary cover fell off today while munching a tofu sandwich. You would think that it would hold up to something like that!
Hang in there, Mica! When I had my wisdom teeth out (all 4 the night before Christmas. Christmas dinner was a bitch). However, all was well, and it didn't really hurt that much. In fact, I never even finished the percodans they gave me......
Edwin

Hey Jeff,
Was that picture of your cat taken at 4:20 or what?
Brad

Someone mention cats at 4:20?

After a heavy catnip session.
-
Mica.
Hope the surgery went well. For what it's worth, My wisdom teeth all came in with no problems and I've still got them. Good luck with the Kittens too, we rescued three a couple of years ago and now they eat us out of house and home.

Mica,
Good luck with the surgery. Like Graeme mine came in and out without any bother. Here's to a similar experience for you.

I was told no smoking after mine were broken and then removed. Ah, the joys of sodium pentothal.
Wishes for a quick recovery!

Graeme
Is that the same cat, photographed with a strobe-motion setup?
Mica
Be careful...I had my wisdom teeth removed and now I'm known as the fool on the hill.
Paul, foth

So far so good. I had one upper tooth removed and it only hurts when I smile really! If I take the percocet, I can smile just fine. Decided to come into the office for the afternoon, so the recovery should be nice and speedy.
My oral surgeon is really great - I've got no swelling or bruising, and it didn't even require a stitch. I should be able to finish up that FC by tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for the good advice, everyone. Dave, if you were closer, you know I would have called you up.
On Stoney's advice, I am posting the Featured Catsdom
Kikyo is just starting to play around. She loves to slap the bottle with her paws.
Kaede is always hungry. A week ago she was 2 ounces lighter than her sister, now she's an ounce heavier.
Their ears just popped up yesterday, so the vet says they are about 2-1/2 to 3 weeks old. It took about 3 days for them to get used to the bottle, but now they really have the hang of it.
The other 3 cats will have to get used to the kittens. Moby has licked each of them a couple of times, but is pretty disinterested. Motor sneaks up to them and runs away. Puddy looks at them for a while, then hisses and hides under the bed.
-
coool!

feel better- just spoke to mary....
give it a month- they will be like 1 happy family..
the lighter one- is that grey? has a very- i am thinking about what i was and how i ended up being this look....

down bruiser... this is not dinner!!!
-
isnt it nice to have so many people care about you?
-
The lighter one is grey with some small brownish spots. They are both really cute of course. It is very nice to have people care, makes me feel much better.
-
Foth.
Nope there are three of them. Heidi, Whispy and Arnold. (the kids named one each).
graeme

Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you thought it might be Mica. And you're hand rearing kittens at the same time!
Mark
-
Ouf ...they took the tooth and left the wisdom!!!
Well ...I hope they did.
In my case I never ahd a problem ...there is no wisdom in me so certainly NOT in a tooth!
Paul the bad one
RATS ...I passed the 2000.
Hmmmmm ....just curious ....will there be an alarm going of? Will I be electrocuted behind my desk? Will I receive a toy-bass from Alembic (something I can play with in my baththub ...mmmmmm... that sound indecent)? A 2000 people doing BOM on an E string? A T-shirt for my cat Kaat??? Will I be punished or exposed as an antique member in that luxury cubbard of Alembic???
So many question! So many choices?? Real Alembic!!
-
paul
watch out- there is a black limo outside your door- a fella named guido is lookin for ya-lol
-
Congrats Paul!!!!
-
I like the idea of 2000 of us on the E string all at once. LMK what time and I'll crank it out the door. It'd be a good way to figure out whether there are other Alembicians in the hood.
Congrats Paul.
-
When will we be doing the PTBO/2000 one note suite in E ?
Congrats Paul..are you hands tired from typing ?
Gary

I am dreadfully allergic to cats - I'm sneezing just looking at this page!
I have had 3 wisdom teeth pulled...so Mica, I feel your pain. Hope you feel better.
-
Stoney, I was thinking about Kiki just the other day. Is there a current picture? We're dog people also.
Paul, maybe you could be made Honorary Moder and be sent to all of these local Alembic meetings that are being talked about lately.

Mica,
Too bad you didn't see this website before getting your teeth worked on:
http://www.triplexgoldteeth.com/ (http://www.triplexgoldteeth.com/)
Brad
-
wow the spinning teeth look interesting...
can i get them with an alembic logo ?
-
I'd've thought you'd want the Dire Wolf!
Alembic logo on one tooth, Dire Wolf on the other, and the Alembic script across all the bottom teeth maybe?
We could call you Flava-flax.
Brad
-
lmao
good one.,...
will pass on bridgitte though,,,,,,
why not led's instead,,,,,?
-
Mother of pearl ovals?
How about a dragon inlay?
A big clock around your neck in cocobolo?
I'm with you on the Bridgitte thing. Too many years of hard living have taken their toll.
Brad
-
how bout the wolf has maybe a month left to be COMPLETED????
then i will wear the worlds widest smile
-
That's enough time to get those teeth installed.
Here's wishing you patience! We haven't even finalized details on mine yet... and it's been 5 months.
Brad

Recovery is going well, but I think even I am going to get sick of mashed potatoes soon!
More importantly, I finally made the Featured Custom (http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_crow.html) live, and in the spirit of all these critters, it's a critter theme.
Enjoy!
-
Great guitar and great choice for featured custom! And the text from Tom is nice too!
-
Damn, that's pretty.
I totally share Susan's love of pinstripe accent lams. The coco/maple/vermillion setup is staggering.
-
Absolutely beautiful guitar Tom, the Coco Bolo looks amazing. I understand why you stare at it a bit before taking it out of the case. And your comments are equally eloquent.
But is it safe to have the Crow in this thread with all these cats ?
