Thanks, Dave & Val
I have been curious about the wood on the fretboard since I received this bass. Vermillion! wow that must be a rare fretboard wood. This bass is absolutly amazing, both in appearance and sound design. I can get the lowest action I have ever been able to get with an Alembic bass to date. I want to thank the Alembic family for such a wonderful instrument. It has aged with grace.

Ed; I'm a bit confused. You've just purchased this bass??
-
Dave,
I bought it on August 16th, from Gruhn Guitars. I received it on the 18th. This is the bass that used to be Mr. O'Connor's, seen in artist section.

I too am confused. See this link: http://www.todobajos.com/Stock/Bajos/HTM/AlembicI.htm (http://www.todobajos.com/Stock/Bajos/HTM/AlembicI.htm)

Bob,
That bass is not the one I have. So you are safe in that respect. The bass I do have (seen in the Artists and their alembics section under Mark O'Connor) is mine. I can plainly see the serial number 77-882, and mine does have the Vermillion fretboard which the one on the link does not. My advice to you would be to double check the serial number.

BTW: The bass in the link looks grand!!! good luck let me know if you need more help. I wish I would have seen your post earlier on so I could have brought this to your attention sooner.
-
Holy cow, you got that bass, ED?
-
Ed, I appreciate the help. Thx. Bob
BTW, awesome bass.
-
Great bass, Ed!! Congrats!!
-
Bob,
Glad I could help.
//Thanks for the kind words about my bass, It must be seen in person to appreciate.
