I have had this bass since the mid 1990's and wondered if anyone can give me any info about it. What woods used etc. The model number is 88P5041. Pics enclosed. The bass was brought over to England from the states by a friend of mine. I paid ?1000 for it.What sort of value would it be now ?

i think that that is a persuader it looks like a quilted maple top i cant tell from the pictue but it looks like a mahogany back it was made in 1988 but you may have guessed that from the serial number i am not sure bout the value but i would guess that you have got quite a good deal for ?1000

They typically eBay in the US right around $1000. Perfect specimens with nice wood go as high as $1200, though dealers will try to get a bit more for them. Considering the relative prices for new Alembics between US and UK, it's probably worth about what you paid for it over there in a private sale.
