I felt a little twinge from that one. And it isn't that I was ever like a big fan, it's just you remember parts of life in sections. I don't remember why it was, but Three Dog Night had become somewhat popular again about the time I graduated from high school. It was party music, not to put too fine a point on it. Remembrance of good times? Maybe we wanted to like what our parents liked along with the hair metal? Hell, I don't know, but that's what I remember. They came and played at our big town festival here in Roanoke not long after... we were maybe...18, going on 19. Down on the river in the City park, hot day. And the band was playing what we usually heard on our radio.


They played here again a couple years ago. It didn't even occur to me to go. Different seasons.

I saw them once, probably spring 1971.  Had the Captured Live album, on which my favorite track was the cover of Chest Fever by The Band.
