Title: Guitar Strings
Post by: rv_bass on December 04, 2025, 04:36:04 PM
Just wondering what strings people use on Alembic guitars, especially Alembic Series guitars.  Thanks!

Go up a gauge on that medium-scale. 11's will feel better.

I use 10’s.   When I’m feeling rich and/or find them on sale, I use Optima Gold.  Otherwise GHS Boomers.

Elites Player Nickel 40 - 100.  Been on for nearly two years and sound like flats.  Lovely sound.  Alembic Orion 4. I found Optima sticky.

Thanks, Glynn, but I was focusing on six string guitar here.  I’ll look into the ones you suggested for bass though.  :)

I use D'Addario on everything; for solid (and semi-hollow) electrics, it's the XL-110w set - .010-.046 nickel wound, with a wound G.

I have used D'addario on all my guitars including Alembic series and Orion alembics. https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/electric-guitar/xl-prosteels/eps520-prosteels-super-light-09-42/ (https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/electric-guitar/xl-prosteels/eps520-prosteels-super-light-09-42/)

When i was touring I tended to use Elixir Nanoweb Electric Super Light Gauge 9-42, because they last longer.i
