Arguably the #2 all-time ambassador of Reggae. Great voice!
May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home

This is a big loss...his version of "I can see clearly now" is amazing; never heard it before, just stunning...

A deficit incurred for music life
'Tis sadness coating the globe in strife
Not ripe nor sweet, bitter darkness all tears
Reputation and appreciation in memory without fears
As I shall soon join with the jammin in the clouds and stars with thee
In mine long hard fall full sail in the sky

There was a lot of his music played in my community when I was growing up. I recall a group of us, mostly under age got into the cinema to see his film The Harder They Come, and it's a film I have watched many times since. It's often cited as the film that really launched reggae to America.
During my time touring, we were on the same bill as him a few times but sadly never got to meet him personally. Great ambassador ror reggae an left us with some inspiring songs. R.I.P. Jimmy Cliff.
