Title: Three-way Q switch instructions
Post by: dslapster64 on August 28, 2025, 04:27:54 PM
Does anyone know where I can receive instructions for installation of the three-way Q switch to replace the two way Q switch?. Mine never came with instructions. Thank you.

I had that done on my signature and will check my old emails to see what I can find. 👍🏾

That would be great . Another gentleman sent me some instructions but they were for a different issue. It was for adding a Q switch to a filter, which may also be helpful.
Thank you.

Hello all,  this board looks a little different from in the instructions. I assume it's one of the three capacitors on the far right. Which one of the capacitors would be the one to remove to make the conversion?

Spoiler electronics (large-ish circuit board) are different from Activator electronics (small modules attached to the body of a potentiometer). The instructions you have apply to an Activator package, you have a Spoiler package.

Well, anything is worth a try. Maybe my technician could make something of it somehow. I haven't gotten a response from Alembic as yet. Thank you.

For anyone following, David and I have been emailing. The Activator Q-switch Instructions will not work for a Spoiler (Distillate, Elan, or Europa). We can change the standard 2-position Q to a 3-position on the Distillate family electronics, but for now they have to be done here on Ron's bench. There's tons of variations with these electronics, and there is some engineering required to get it to happen correctly.
