Title: 20th Anniversary basses question
Post by: Markie 2869 on June 22, 2025, 10:54:49 AM
Hi, I have just became the owner of my first 20th Anniversary bass.
Been twenty years since i had to let go my series II.
Could anyone tell me how many of the 200 instruments were 32” scale.
And how many were 32” scale with Maple facings?
Many thanks, Mark P

Welcome Mark, and congratulations on that new-to-you bass. I remember asking the question but not the full answer. I think it goes something like; they made a total of 200, but didn't track how many in which wood combination or which scale length. Because I'm a complete washout for this kind of minutiae, I happen to know there are at least two 5-string Anniversary Models, one in walnut the other in maple.

Here is a thread from a few years ago with a few shards of info. https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=26513.msg270867#msg270867

Greetings Markie welcome back to Alembic. We live pictures here so please post some when you have a chance. There are many members with a fountain of knowledge regarding these instruments so someone here may have a good close estimate to answer your question.
Enjoy playing that bass.

Thanks for the replys and a welcome back to the club.
Hete is mine 033/200. And a pic of my old series II. Which now resides with a friend, after a 20 year journey around the globe :)

And here is how you post pictures (not so easy):

Start a reply then click "Preview".  Continue writing your note and then click on "Attachments and other options".  There you will find a "Choose File" button which will allow you to navigate to your photos.  NOTE that there is a size limit of 1000KB (1MB) per attachment so you may need to reduce the size of your pictures before attaching.  Also note that you will not see the attached photos in Preview mode, they will only appear when you finally hit Post.

Let's see those basses!

Thanks, yep the file size is stopping me posting the pics. Will have a try to reduce the size and post them here 😎
