Just watching the shocking situation unfolding in the news at the moment. Stay safe.

kinda feels like the 60's here all over again.

I don’t like this.

Jazzyvee rightly advises members in the area to stay safe. He is also pointing to an example of how many here in the US are extremely divided at this time, as are many in countries around the world.
And as a reminder, we do not wish for our community here to become similarly divided.
Music brings people together, music can heal the heart. Music can be a refuge for the world-weary; as can community.
We can pay attention to what's happening in the world around us. We may support those we find to be in the right; we may stand up to those who we find to cause harm. But ultimately, we are all in this together. All of us.
May our actions cause the world we leave, the communities we leave, to future generations, to be just a little more peaceful.

Thank you Dave,
your words are filled with great wisdom

Yeah, I thought about that one - but "nobody's right if everybody's wrong" kind of steered me away from it........
At the risk of bumping up against the policy Dave so nicely reminded us of, there is somebody who's wrong here!
Peter (who apologizes to Dave, Mica, et al, and will now shut up, go over to YT, and watch Randy Rainbow videos)

I certainly agree too. I hope that someday soon we can value different opinions without feeling we have to cut ourselves off from others we don't agree with in this world.
-
Wise words indeed David, and i sincerely hope my post does not break any of the forum rules.
"Music brings people together, music can heal the heart. Music can be a refuge for the world-weary; as can community."
It's also the sung, but unsung hero.

Keeping "We the people" divided helps the government prevent it from becoming us against them. Dark times in the USA.

Bing bing bing. Exactly.

At this point I'll remind everyone that we do have posting guidelines which can be found here: https://club.alembic.com/index.php?board=30.0 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?board=30.0). Please read before posting any further messages to this thread. Thank you.

Sorry, Dave, but as much as I love and respect you, and the guidelines that keep this place so infinitely groovy, I must risk one more verging on over the political line: At the Milwaukee Civic Auditorium in spring of '80, Bobby took advantage of a long tuning break (what are the chances, eh?) to announce Billy's write-in candidacy for President; "A vote Kreutzmann is a vote for dancing in the streets!"
I was still registered in the hometown, so walked into the booth, looked at the choices, and New Concord, OH (pop. ~800) rendered up one vote for William "Fairplay" Kreutzmann.
I say we get him in in '28!
Peter (who just realized the last time he recalls Dave having to say that was the last time he was recovering from spine surgery, and thinks he may want to give up doing that.......)

:) Here's hoping your current recovery goes well enough that no further surgeries are necessary.
