Title: Custom '89 Spoiler/Persuader
Post by: edwardofhuncote on May 14, 2025, 07:09:47 AM
...with LED's and J/P/J pickup configuration, but oddly (to me) no switching at all, just Volume & Filter controls. I suppose one could do something about that. On the other hand, it might sound like a total badass with all those things in a full-on all-out to a good rig, no finesse at all! A little pricey even for a cool custom, but might be just the thing for someone. Let's see how long it sits.

Cool bass. I like that pickup layout. Same as the old Fender Stu Hamm Urge basses. Definitely pricey, but it is in Switzerland, so that's somewhat of a factor.

I wonder if there's a Newsted connection...
I've seen pictures of Jason Newsted (Metallica) with an almost identical bass, I think his had the same knob layout as his JPJ Elans. (3 x volume and single filter + Q switch)

Maybe a reject because of the electronics, or maybe one of his actual basses?

I believe you are correct FC. The number was so close to my Persuader 5-string that it only took a minute to find! https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=27058.msg279547#msg279547 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=27058.msg279547#msg279547)

(I figured this one would catch your eyes anyway, bonus points for the positive ID)  8)

Same bass posted here for far less money than on reverb....it says local pick up (in Switzerland).
