Hello all. Just an observation on keeping up on a series 5 pin jack. I learned today, a tad late, one must periodically tighten the mounting screws. Mine came undone from their nuts somehow
An adventure of opening up and hunting for the nuts and reattaching the jack ensued. Not a lot of space for fingers in there. So periodically, check yer screws (. Including pickups) to avoid any troubles.

I remember snugging one up one time, but I can't remember for the life of me on which instrument. May even have been the Series guitar I had briefly. I remember that I actually heard something loose, and kept tapping around until finally discovering one of the 5-pin mounting screws had worked loose. I think it was the guitar, 78-1116. Coincidentally, has a 'birthday' today.
Oddly enough, I received a fretless Distillate one time, that both of the neck pickup mounting screws, (the ones that locks it in place) had spontaneously backed out and were loose in the case. Fortunately both screws wound up in the crease where the lid was hinged, and didn't gouge up an otherwise perfect bass.

I did notice on this 1976 s-1 bass that I am working on, that the wood where the 5 pin screws into body is a bit "chewed" up. Thankfully, not causing any structural issues, but may put a small layer of epoxy to reinforce the area prior to reinstalling the electronics. Maybe these are prone to getting loose?
