A very close friend of mine has allowed me to represent the sale of his 1976 Series I Omega bass. Condition is excellent and includes original case, power supply, cable, finish etc. Strap buttons are replaced. Top and back are shedua and the core is mahogany. He is asking $6K. If interested, please contact me via PM, and I will put you in contact with the seller.

Sweet bass for sure! Looking at the single truss-rod and wondering when they started using the double truss-rod? My 78 Series bass was completed in June of that year and by then they were using the double-truss rods.

What an actual stunner - and it even has a single channel truss rod - unusual for an Alembic, but very interesting, none the less. Sometimes, I think it's best to live in "blissful" ignorance, because once you have experienced, and heard, a Series in person, it's probably quite difficult to settle for anything less. If I didn't live across the pond, it would be tempting.
Good luck with the sale! ;D

Single truss rods were used up to 1976. They started using the double rods in 1977. I have had many single rod Alembics over the years, and they work great. They also did not add truss rod covers until 1977. If you will notice on this particular bass, the fingerboard dimensions are a bit narrower than standard. A custom order I would imagine. I will confirm neck dimensions and report back.

Looks to have a 1.5" nut and a 1.75" width at the body. Definitely a custom order bass.

This is a beauty for sure!
