Good luck with that! Maybe too many add-ons for an Essence.

new prices keep goin upp and up, makes me glad i got my new one a coupla price increases ago. used, not so much. you could get a nice old series I for that much $ and have enuff left over for a pretty nice stereo rig and maybe a clown car to haul it around in. jsut sayin.

I could see if a customer wanted a custom Essence with the add-ons but it will be curious if a shop can find a buyer willing to spend $12K over the current used market for a 4 string Essence. And I'm being generous for that 5K price used.

New Alembics cost more than used Alembics. That’s pretty much what a new one costs 😊

You know RV, you are correct! I bought my Essence 6 new for $2,500 in 1993……then it hit Me….. that’s 32 YEARS ago….to this geezer, it seems like yesterday! I won’t even discuss what I paid for my Classico 6 in 1998. ;) ;D 8)

I know what you mean, I used to pay $12 for Levi’s blue jeans, and 1974 still seems like yesterday to me 😊

Worth mentioning... Eddie's Guitars is an Alembic dealer, with a phone number and a storefront. They cater to a clientele that wouldn't flinch at buying this bass. I can't imagine a circumstance under which I would buy that bass, or make any other transaction of that size using an online platform and not have some human interaction. But hey, it's 2025... I guess some folks would rather do it that way.
The important thing about this one, it's new, and it's in-stock. No waiting. No issues. No foolishness. I agree it's a lotta' money, but the 13 people on that build sheet had to get paid somehow. If you want it cheaper... I dunno, wait 20 years and buy it third-hand? ;D
