Title: KR's 1966 Fender Precision For Sale
Post by: KR on February 18, 2025, 11:33:13 AM
Offering another fine instrument to the club for anyone wanting a really nice condition, vintage Fender Precision Bass for their collection. Made in 1966, light-weight 8.6lbs, and has an October neck date. All original parts, case and finish, with the exception of a fret job by former Fender Custom Shop guru John Suhr. In better shape than most, and has some dings here and there, but still in really nice shape. This particular bass has a woody, classic tone that you expect from this model. Nicely set-up with low action. Lower 48 buyers and local Los Angeles area pickup welcome. Checking the prices on these, I have this priced low and fairly and no sales tax. 6200.00 Buyer pays actual insured shipping. I had to lower the res for these pics, so PM if you want higher.

Wow, that’s a beauty! I think I have only played a vintage’60s Fender bass once - someone grab this!

It's a good one. I have Swing Bass on it currently. I also have the original factory strings from that period. Not many players of today have gotten to experience what the true original Squire flatwounds feel and sound like. Imagine old La Bella Flats, but even darker.

Indeed. And it's sitting by a 1963 Ampeg B18, which is a prototype unit for the series. The maker, Jess Oliver told me it's either the very first or second unit ever produced. I have the head in a rack for taking to recording work.
