Look at this Paul Jones Alembic. Its a custom, but there is no head stock emblem. So, do you think it's a real Alembic? Mica would know

This one makes the rounds every so often Michael. It's not an Alembic. (hence the lack of a logo)
It's just a cool project bass somebody made but it does appear to have some legitimate Alembic parts. I'm not sure if weve ever seen a picture of the electronics cavity to properly ID what the controls are, but if we're to believe the build is from 1988, then I'll guess VVF or VPF. Hard to say, but that makes the most sense. Who knows if the Phil Jones is the same Phil Jones employed by Gibson. If any provenance exists it isn't mentioned. It is a Gibson type truss-rod cover for what that's worth. It certainly doesn't justify the price they're trying to get out of it for me, and I like Gibson-y stuff.
Anyway, this one has a fast orbit. Here's the last thread, with links to previous threads- https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=28532.0 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=28532.0)
