I guess everyone can do what they want with their own alembic.
-
They can, and they did..... Orz

I do wonder about the reasons behind that decision. I did that once, realised what I was missing and put the original electronics back in my bass and vowed never to do it again.

missing logo. price doesn't reflect that (imho ymmv). at least it wasn't inlaid :o . somebody's girlfriend got an expensive necklace pendant probably. at any rate - no salesays the old curmudgeon from the mile high. now my head hurts. where's my vaporizer?
-
And I can't see a serial number on what looks to be a (plastic?) replacement truss rod cover... I'd be interested to see the control cavity with the cover off, how much you want to bet there's some wood gouged out where the serial number would have been stamped?
Hard pass for me. Langley is a lovely town and would be a pleasant day trip for me, but no. I'll have to check out that store next time I'm there, though.

Orions and Epics come with black plastic truss rod covers, but the serial number on set-neck instruments (with no laminate on the back of the headstock) is usually on the back of the headstock. It might also be stamped into the ridge of the electronics cavity.
-
I can just about see there is a serial number on the back of the headstock but the resolution of the picture is not high enough to see what it is. Unless of course you have better eyesight than me. :-)

Aha. Thanks for explaining that. My bass is Epic-shaped but is built like an Essence, neck-through, and has the a brass truss rod cover with the serial number. Extrapolating from a sample size of one was not a good idea ;D

Odd pickups on that Orion. 4 poles per string, except for the high C which has two. :o
