Title: Looking for 4003 or 4001 Rickenbacker bass pickups
Post by: gtrguy on July 31, 2024, 10:07:28 AM
Curious if anyone has any 4003 or 4001 Rickenbacker bass pickups they might want to sell for a good price.

Do you mean stock, or Alembic replacements?

I just want Rickenbacker brand ones and not a copy.

Gotcha. All I have is a dead Ric bridge position and an Alembic bridge position.

Hi, I have some spare genuine Rickenbacker 4001 pickups, 2 bridge and 1 neck, all hi-gain (as opposed to toaster and horseshoe Rick 4001 pickup types), bridges are missing those gigantic hexagonal mounting plates, neck is missing the chrome frame and the magnet bar. All from before hex poles.

I did not plan to sell them cheap, they are a rare resource and spares for my main bass, but I could trade for some stuff you maybe might have. Things that come to mind are Alembic Series bridges and/or tailpieces (4 or 8 string), Fender precision pickup pre 1975ish, Activator parts (I have a PJ set pickups only and I need everything else now), pre 1980 Fender shortscale bass neck. Those are all over the place, some money can go either way depending on the values.

You won't have to ship until you've recieved and checked stuff from me, but we both may have to eat international shipping (I'm in Spain). If you have something I really want I could probably muster a US address for you to ship, but no promises yet. Let me know if you might be interested, I'll make some pics for you, cheers.

https://www.ricpage.com/ricpart.htm

They have genuine neck pickups in store for $99, Reverb is 2-3 times that. Haven't bought from them so can't vouch.

This is a newer version, post 2000ish, wired bit differently, but has adjustable poles which helps on Rics with an E problem.

Sorry but disregard my last post, I just saw that they are 100 new on Rickenbacker website if you're in the US. They don't sell outside of the US directly and new pickups cost way more as a consequence.

Bought the neck pickup from Alto music for $100. Super fast shipping. Now to get the bridge one.
