The serial number pops up in edwardofhuncote's comment (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=28329.msg288263#msg288263) on a thread about a Reverb listing that is no longer available, concerning a Series I-sans-electronics. It may have been mentioned in the original listing. Pictures available in that thread ...

Thanks, Adriaan.

Yes, this is another fixer upper project.

Birdseye maple top and back

Maple and Purple Heart (or walnut), and maybe beech neck

Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl fret inlays

Brass side fret markers

I have most of the parts to restore the pickups and electronics, purchased bits and pieces online over time.

I am mostly interested in the body wood confirmation, it is light colored and I am hoping it is birch, but we will see what the build card says.

It is in transit to me now and I will post current photos when I receive it.

I felt a great disturbance in The Force... ;D

Yep, this is 76-582. I still have the original ad with pics saved in my 'favorites' because I corresponded with the seller. Rob showed me a picture the other day of his new project bass, and I recognized it. Someone else had bought it offa' Reverb and did some more whittlin'. Finally, 582 is going to get put back right.  8)
