Hi! I'm Dong Gun from Republic of Korea.
I posted a message about wanting to buy a 5string Series I or II bass, which some people might have seen.
However, I changed my mind and decided to purchase a new Series II 4string bass available in Korea instead.
I do have a Series I 5string bass as well.
Anyway, because of this decision, I'm looking to sell my trusty 1977 Series bass that I've been using.
It's listed on Reverb, but I'm offering it under better conditions at the Alembic Club.
If you're interested, please PM or contact me.

Beautiful bass, Peruvian walnut is not common, good luck with your sale!

Hi DG, welcome to the club.
That's a nice looking '77 and I'm sure somebody will give it a good home. So you did find a 5-string Series I that you like? Can you tell us about it? (We love pictures!)
Cheers,
Jimmy J

Quite a nice bass you have for sale, good luck with the sale!
I would also like to see pictures of your Series I five-string if possible and of course pictures of your new four-string, too. Did you find the five-string recently (since you first posted you were looking) or have you had it for a while?

Hi rv_bass, Jimmy, and Stephen, thank you for the welcome.
I believe members might recognize my Series I bass.
I bought it last year to celebrate my 30th birthday in Korean age.
My 1977 Series II is a bit challenging for me to play standing up, given my height of 5'7".
Fortunately, I was able to find a Series I in excellent condition with a Europa body from Pierre.
The new Series II isn't with me yet, but I've reserved it.
It has been with the Alembic distributor, G-CAT, for a few years.
We've known each other for over ten years and have always enjoyed discussing Alembic.
Since I first encountered Alembic in 2013, I've always loved their sound.
I've owned two Orions, a Distillate, two Europas, an MK, and now I've finally arrived at Series basses.
I'm incredibly happy to finally own and play Series basses.

Here are pictures of my Europa Series I and the Series II that I'm planning to purchase.

I recognize the Series I :-)
Pierre-Yves even let me play it when I visited him (He bought the fretless bass that's next to me)
Amazing bass! And IIrc extremely heavy (much heavier than my SII)

Those are two beautiful basses! Thanks for posting the pics, play them in good health and let us know what you think about the four-string once you get it. The Balance K body shape is my current favorite and both basses have a crown headstock which I also love. Does the four-string have an ebony neck laminate, can't quite tell from the picture, but if so that makes it an even better find.

For completeness I am now the owner of the series II short scale Koa bass above FC Bass's head.

Thanks for the pics. Yes indeed, you've got a great collection started! That's a fine looking 5-string and some amazing inlay work on that Series-II. The two are a good match with the same Balanced-K body and the same control layout (plus master volume on the -II). Enjoy these fine machines and make some great music with them!

Fine basses there! That Peruvian walnut can really be something. I remember that Distillate you had as well, it eventually found it's way to another Club Member here.

I love it !

I have no affiliation, but at the currently listed reverb price that is a great value for that beautiful 77 Series II bass .

And if my eyes serve, the one above him to his left used to be mine. A great instrument.

Is that one owned by Geepee ( George Price)?
