Title: A Sad Turn Od Events
Post by: cozmik_cowboy on May 10, 2024, 06:35:34 AM
Brian Wilson, The Bach Of Rock (as Brother Panzer once referred to him), has, at 81 been placed in a conservatorship of the person due to dementia.
His wife, who had taking care of him for decades, passed in January.
From the article:

"Wilson's longtime manager LeeAnn Hard and publicist Jean Sievers, who filed the conservatorship, were named his conservators.
Regarding Wilson’s medical care, Hard and Sievers have been granted the authority to "authorize the administration of medications appropriate for the care and treatment" of the musician's neurocognitive disorder, per the minute order. The representatives must consult with Wilson's children on "all material related healthcare decisions" for their father."

I've always thought he was another one of those famous 60's musicians who experimented with various street pharmaceuticals, and he landed just this side of Syd Barrett.  Then you follow that with all those years being treated by his 'therapist', it was an utter miracle he was able to resume a reasonably normal existence for as long as he did.

An utter genius.  How could a young 20-something have the 60's LA A-Team eating out of his hand, and scare The Beatles with PET SOUNDS to the point they dug deep to counter it with SEARGENT PEPPER's.  I rarely use the word Genius, but he's on the short list.
