Title: If Alembic were to make a stompbox, what would it be?

Or, what would you wish it would be? 😆

An SF-2 stomp box would be nice :)

I'm still waiting for that Distill-App...http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_distill-app.html

I would like a simple switcher stomp box so that I could easily switch the two channels of my existing  SF-2 a, b or both  in or out as required.

Low pass filter with on/off foot switch and foot switchable variable Q boost. Two knobs, two foot switches.

All the requests for filter pedals makes me wonder whether a few Synthesizers.com modules and a housing would accomplish the same results -- they have a low pass filter module that can either do a -12dB or -24ddB slope.  Not sure whether the instrument interface and/or amplifier modules would also be needed.

I imagine a Moog MF-101 pedal would also accomplish the same thing.

Of course, neither of these are Alembic-specific solutions - just pointing out that there are some options currently out there.

I have a custom built pedal that switches a low-pass filter, with a sweep-able Q. It does what I want it to for non-Alembic basses without onboard filters, especially effective when used with my old Starfire. It doesn't feel quite like the same effect as my Alembics do. But then... it isn't the same.

If Alembic made one, I'd be first in line for it.

When my batteries are dying on my Series 1, it sounds like the tweeters in the PA are blown.    I don't think I would want to re-create that.

An SF-2 stomp box would be nice :)

I asked Ron once 10-15 years ago about an "SF-1P" or something like that - a one-channel Superfilter, but with CV control. Ron asked me what pedal I would recommend - I hadn't thought of it that seriously so didn't have a good answer!

Thinking about it now, it could just be a low-pass filter and I'd be happy. And I wouldn't even really need CV control, although I thought it would be cool to be able to adjust the filter frequency with your foot so that it could be changed throughout a song.

Dying battery fuzz tone!

I managed to record that once!

Imagine if that sound (or "those sounds") could be captured in a pedal?! I had a LastGasp Art Laboratories fuzz that got close...

Hieronymous, that's classic! Just think of what it would sound like on the treble pickup of a 4001 Rick!

That sample alone should be used to build an incredible hip hop song! Send it to Public Enemy stat!!

Actually, it kind of reminds me of the intro to Get Off Your Ass and Jam by Funkadelic!

I built a PedalPCB Pro Filter. It is very close to SF-2. I use the SF-2 for gigs and Pro Filter for rehearsals.

I could see the appeal of a string of Alembic takes on the classic guitar stomps:  Wah, Phase, Comp, Envelope Follower, Delay.
They could even make Distortion and Chorus for all you other folks.
