i have 4 basses - 2 mono and two stereo. one stereo bass uses a 5-pin, the other a TRS. these all get channeled thru a patch box that puts the amps in parallel for the mono basses and stereo elsewise. i have a stompbox that controls it all. what made it complicated was accomidating the different stereo basses. it made for 3 different cords for 4 basses. it finally put me over the edge.
the A-bass is a shop night bass that is basically set up for a 5-pin male receptacle like her series II cousin. thought about having a local luthier do the carpentry and then i'd set her up for stereo only and possibly external power, at least for the LEDs.
i really didn't wanna cut and hack on that bass unless it was absoultely necessary, so i came up with what we used to call in the trade a "gender bender". now i can use the 5-pin on both basses. if i like it enuff i might make one for mono basses. that way i only have to jack with a 5-pin on my home rig and 1/4" on the road rig. hmmmmm..
