Beautiful bass with 'the wood'. Too bad about the crack and one of the what look like replacement pickups not working.
-
Oh, and the small switches don't look all original and the knobs aren't. It sure is a looker though. I hope someone buys it and fixes it up right.
-
76-276?

This is my listing. I don't know too much about it, but it could definitely use the love. I asked Susan for the card on it a while back and she said it was incomplete, so a bit of a mystery. I bought it as it currently is, so I didn't do any of the work or replacements that have been done.
Either way, it's beautiful and the neck pickup sounds amazing. If anyone here is interested in it let me know, I'll def come down on price for the club.
-
It's a 'series one' and not a Persuader. The serial number would also be helpful. A picture inside the back plate showing the electronics would be great too.
It's certainly beautiful!

I don’t think I ever claimed it to be a persuader, so apologies if that’s the case. I can take some more pictures when I’m in the studio tomorrow.

The specs below the ad say Persuader, that's all. At that price, one could have the bass forwarded to the Mothership for fixing what needs to be fixed, and still be at a very reasonable pricepoint, knowing what the asking prices are nowadays. And it gets you two slices of THE zebrawood.

If that were a small standard......

ok - i'm pretty sure this is #76-270 which passed thru my hands a couplas years ago. loved the sound but this had to be the most ungainly and uncomfortable bass i ever played strapped or seated. so i traded up for a series II that's just about as awkward to play but sounds 10x better.
when that bass left my hands it was in perfect working order and pristine condition. if this bass is that bass then it's been poorly treated in the meantime... <edit> forsooth!

I could be wrong but that wood sure looks like Bocote, not zebrawood. Reminds me very much of my first series 1. The woods look similar...
-
This is definitely Zebrawood - a very distinct piece from a few large boards we got back then. Part of the Bocate mimic is the age of the finish yellowing it up quite a bit.
