I bought Brown Bass brand new about 11 years ago and have been a proud owner of it. Don't know when it started but I have found that the bridge pick up output isn't what it should be.
I need to turn Vol pot to max to hear it, albeit much less loud than neck pickup output. When turning the volume nob of the rear pickup down just a slight bit, output is lost. No sound. Nothing. on the other hand, Q switches for both pickup work well.
I tried to tweak the trim on the volume pot but no result.
Another problem, setting Output stereo/mono switch to mono, no sound come out! I have to keep it on "stereo" Mode to send signals to amp. (using normal mono cable)
I hate an idea to send this bass to CA from Japan for fixing the problem so I need to do some search how to fix this problem. Any ideas supports would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I'm in Japan too. I find the humidity effects pots a lot here. A response to one of my problems was that the pots are self cleaning and to try turning the pot back and forth a handful of times. Good luck. I'm sure when this reaches the US timeline you will get some more constructive suggestions.

A simple question, what setting do you have the pickup selector in?. It sounds to me like the selector is only set to the neck pickup position.
Try moving the pickup selecter one click back from the Neck pickup setting which will engage both pickups and see if that makes any sense.
If you have already checked this then please ignore me.

Apart from the pots, with any switch that isn't functioning it's worth trying to exercise it.

Thank you guys! I appreciate that you took time leaving your comments here. Jazzyvie - I am aware of pick up selector position. adriaan - swtich exercise? how? toggle up and down 50 times? DistrillaMatto - I was looking for a gap on pod to spray contact refreshing solution inside but not sure if I should. I will give a try turing the pod 50 times. first.

Yes, toggle away. Also do NOT use use any kind of "contact spray", as the pots are sealed.

toggle it and turn the pod left and right 100 times . No result :'( :'(
stereo - mono switch problem I think I can figure out the root cause. I will work at it in mid-Feb (until then, I am out of town)
Thanks guys!
