#22 of 50 up for grabs on Reverb, though given the price not something for quickly grabbing without some thought.

Did Alembic ever offer a Series II version like Entwistle's?
-
What would be the electronics in this bass as it doesn't indicate - Signature?
-
At least it's something interesting. I can't remember such a long dry spell. Maybe 'cause I ain't lookin' ?
I don't know about Spyders, but in a recent thread, a couple Series-equipped Exploiters came up that were rather earnestly trying to be attributed to Entwistle lore. I seem to recall the late Maj. Dover had a replica Series II made.

well now i knew if i waited around long enuff somethink interesting woulld turn up. thinking seriously about this one. kinda on the horns of a delenema. i need a barhopper 5 string. got one in my sights, kinda waitin for the band situation to come together. in the meanwhile, that dragonwing still becons like a siren. this one's stereo. that's big in my house. stock market's up. trigger finger's gettin itchy. i dunno. better soak & medicate awhile before i do anything rash

Most likely Anniversary electronics.
-
From the build card, it appears to have Anniversary configuration electronics.

still up fer sale. not too surprizing given it's BIN only . i haven't popped a BIN in >25 years, not gonna start now. not really considering any moves until after the new years anyways, unless it's not just the price that's eye-popping. nice bass. not sure if it's $16k USD nice, tho.
used prices don't seem to be flattening out. just pulled up my unsold watch list, i see 4 exploiters in various flavors, a flock 'o stienbergers, a coupla series II's and various flretlessessess that are about 30% over market prices of similar models that have actully sold. think i'm gonna take a lesson from the flippers - let 'em soften up a little while, then hit 'em between the eyes with a lowball. almost worked last time!
-
...and my state has a 10%+ Sales Tax so add $1,600.00 to that shipping charge.....almost 18 Grand!
-
Pssssst.... we just started a replica of the first JE Series I Exploiter body for our showroom. It will take a while to complete since we spend most of our time on customer orders, but hopefully it will make some sound in 2024.

8) Now, there's a scoop...
-
OMG, so you are going to do an one-off or a regular run?
-
Hey Mica,
now that is cool news.
You know that is my alltime painpoint.
Will you do an exact replica to No. 1?

Someone needs to let Geddy Lee know about the Spyder on Reverb! ;D
-
.....and it's gone. Is there a way to find out if it "sold" or just removed from the listings by the seller.
-
yeah, maybe a sigh of relief here at the house o'BeenDown about that one. i think maybe one more bass purchase before i kick the bucket. been vacillating between another expensive wall hanging and something i can take barhopping with me on my last campaing. so it's been between that, a dragonwong and a coupla fretted maple-bodied essencesses that are floating around. band scene is in the doldrums. shoulders both are acting up. gonna go medicate, methinks.
i'll bet someone's eagerly awaiting the delivery guy to show up. i sure would be...

I’m considering adding the last 4 string Spyder to my heard. I have the V headstock….what do they call the other headstock? I know it seems silly….but I aspire to have all three versions of the Spyder. I’m not particularly an Entwhistle fan…..I just love the looks of the Spyder as Art. And, of course, cranking it up once in a while to provide the neighborhood with some noise!
-
I *think* it's called a spear headstock? I dig that one. The V style reminds me of a Dean.
-
Gary,
it is called the cone headstock.
