Title: Happy Holidays
Post by: Artgeckko on December 19, 2023, 11:38:55 AM
Just wanted to wish all a Happy Holiday.
Said it before, but worth repeating!
This club is a tremendously helpful resource, well fortified with nice, helpful, knowledgable people.
Thank you to all who reached out with solid contributions and suggestions!
Folks like you help the world go 'round.
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday.

Gotta give my doubleneck shout-out to Xmas!

(Though it might not actually be a doubleneck, at least at night...)

So gotta make sure to get some legitimate winter solstice-time doubleneck complete with Alembic snow!

Festive Greetings to my alembic family, including the alembic team who have made and continue to make sonic dreams come true.
All the best for the seasons and i look forward to our continued interactions in 2024. Special thanks to Bill, tgo and his wife Tina for hosting both of us this summer during our USA visit.

The new Nickel Creek record is fantastic.

I gave my Dad two tickets to see the Dan Tyminski Band next month here in Roanoke. I got a heads-up from my buddy John over at Bluegrass Today, because he's on the mail list for everything and everybody in bluegrass music. Got really good seats. I imagine he will take my sister while I look after our Mom.

Only thing music-related for me; a Stewart MacDonald e-gift certificate. Which will be put to immediate use when I get back to the shop.

Just started listening to it.  It really is a gem.

Opened this gift today, reading material to go along with the music (we are NOT traditional with our Holiday behaviors).

Well got a 4 string (3 singles and dual thin string) cigar box guitar so that will keep me occupied. I'm not sure how it should be tuned yet.
I'm sure the body is deep enough for a series upgrade.  ;D 8) :-X

It seems like dulcimer stringing, so maybe try a dulcimer tuning; one of the most common is 1st  D below middle C, A the same, and the paired course 1st D above middle C.
