Title: A nice experience in GAS
Post by: dannobasso on October 28, 2023, 06:30:10 PM
We are always looking for good places to see and possibly acquire new toys. I came across The Music Den in Randolph NJ on Reverb. I took the hour drive west and picked up a used (mint) Brown bass. I had a signature deluxe in the past and traded it. So I thought  a short scale would be nice to  play again. They were good on moving the price and set it up nicely on the spot as I play down a 1/2 step. Nice friendly staff. Good store with some high end gear including vintage horns. So if you are in north westish Jersey on route 10, stop by. Perhaps this belonged to a club member?

Since nobody else has had the wherewithal for sass this morning... I'll step up.

You can't just proclaim having taken stewardship of a Brown Bass, widdout showin' us pictures of said Brown Bass. C'mon Danno, you know better.   ;D

I can second the support for "The Music Den". Nice place to do business with.
I can also second the call for pictures!

But it isn't black.

Nice looking bass I especially like the grain pattern.

Put DR Hi Beams on the BB. It really sings! Right after playing it for a while, I played my masterbuit Warwick Vampire 6. Though it is a very fine bass, I had to let my ears rest a bit because jumping right in was not the same experience. As we all know, Alembics are some kind of special.

I have a question. Can anyone tell me what the black circuit board is? I've never encountered it before in any of my Alembics.

Its very dark purple, and it's the master circuit for the LEDs to manage the brightness between 2 colors.

Thanks so very much for the info oh princess oh the kingdom.  I’m glad it wasn’t something alien in the mix.

Looks great. After you got that amazing custom made it looks like the gas doesn't go away.

No. I was especially naughty this year. After the custom, a mint series 2 5 from JP Maguire came my way, then the BB and new Bassboss tops and subs for my PA set up for wedding bands. Bassboss gear is like studio monitors for live sound and the 15 subs out perform the 18's we were using. Next year I really have to sell off some of the collection!
