Have you any information on my bass . Purchased it around 1979 from a store in Philadelphia. Pa
Thanks Vince

The brass inlay on your bass must be one of a kind, very interesting! :)

Thanks never seen another with anything close . I don't know whose idea it was , definitely unique. It's my main bass nothing has ever come close to its tone

Here's what I found in the instrument file, Vince.
First, the index card has the typical scant details:
short scale bass (Large body)
top: Koa
back: Koa
body: Maple
neck: Maple, Walnut, and Birch
fingerboard: Ebony
inlay: mother of pearl
peghead veneers: Bocate
originally made for: Rothchild
birthday: not recorded, but based on numbers nearby with dates, likely late August to early September 1976
In November 1976 Rothchild returned to us for Warranty repairs for: drip marks near tail, small chips routing around pickups, messy lacquer where nut meets fingerboard.
I'm guessing this is when the brass around the pickups and knobs was installed.
There's a note that we "shipped February 1, 1977 Brass inlay around pickups and knobs" with an owner address in southern California
On Feb 9, 1977, Rothchild returned to us again for a warranty repair to "buff out marks in brass around top pickup"
There's an undated note with your ownership stating that you purchased in 1978 from Cintiolli's Music, and a re-registration from you in 2003 to update email address.
