Title: (x) 80-1532 Series I Long-Scale Guitar
Post by: flavofive on March 07, 2023, 03:38:47 PM
I just purchased this one from Sam Ash in Charlotte, NC.  I just posted photos in the Showcase section (link (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=27763.msg282263#msg282263)).

I do have the original build sheet, which has the info below.  I'm just curious if there is any additional information available?  E.g. refinishes, electronics upgrade, etc.?  If not, no worries at all.

- Series I
- Top:  Walnut
- Back:  Walnut
- Core:  Mahogany
- Neck:  Maple and Purpleheart
- Fingerboard:  Ebony
- Veneers:  Walnut
- Tuners:  Schaller
- Inlays:  Mother of Pearl
- Scale Length:  Build sheet says 30-3/4" like a short-scale bass, but this seems to be a typo.  The scale length is definitely 25-1/2".
- Alembic Electronics:  PF-6
- Completion Date:  2/14/80 (V-Day  :)  )

Many thanks!

Hi Mike,

You've got all the build details I have. Here's what else is in the file:

originally made for: Campbell Music, Archdale, NC

original owner registered on 2/19/1980

repair order dated 3/10/1980 to "repair body" but no details other than that.

I've made a note that the scale length was recorded for a short scale bass, not the long scale guitar that it is.

Mica,
Very much appreciated, thank you!  I'll add these notes to the hardcopy records in the case.
Best,
Mike
