I love playing his tunes! Just beautiful. Rest easy.

I have been in deep appreciation of Wayne Shorter's musical contributions for as long as I have first heard his early work before the band Weather Report existed. I shall mourn in respect and reflect in thought of his memory and musical contributions.

Oh, man…a huge influence…RIP maestro…and thank you for the beautiful music…

Yes a big loss. He was involved in several pivotal moments in instrumental music and had a unique and beautiful way of playing. Great composer too. Also a very nice person from what I've heard. We're lucky he was with for so much longer than many of his cohorts. 89's a pretty good score! RIP

A giant among giants. I remember having an extended conversation with him after a show Weather Report played in a tiny venue at Wesleyan University in CT during the late 70s. So open to discussing any music and with a good dose of zen long before he got into Buddhism.

Yes, truly a legend and i'm thankful that after many years listening to his playing, I managed to see him in concert a few years back.

A real giant and a mentor to many. Sad loss.
-
Really sad, a great person, musician, all together. He got it all... such a loss

I've pulled his biography off my book shelf and started rereading.
