Title: Lovely old Odyssey fretless
Post by: hankster on February 02, 2023, 12:29:50 PM
This bass is for sale at https://stangguitars.com/products/vintage-odyssey-fretless-bass-w-flight-case (https://stangguitars.com/products/vintage-odyssey-fretless-bass-w-flight-case). I know the bass - it’s lovely. Long scale, beautiful instrument. A rare bird. Sounds great and plays great. I’d buy it myself if I had room. It’s in Edmonton but I’m sure can be shipped.

That is a REALLY nice looking bass! I'm not familiar with Odyssey.

Interesting - I saw someone post an Odyssey on TalkBass recently (though I think it was fretted) - first time I had heard of one.

Odyssey basses were made in Canada by a luthier named Atilla Balogh. There weren’t a lot of them but they were popular in the 80s and early 90s among bass players looking for decent hand built basses. They are wonderful instruments.
