Title: body glove for bass
Post by: Mlazarus on January 02, 2023, 06:59:17 PM
I noticed this series 1 has a body glove over it. Where can i get one. Does Alembic sell this?

I’m not sure how well that would work out for the finish long term. It reminds me when people would get a car bra thinking they’d keep the front of the car free from scratches or it looked cool. When they took the thing off the finish was ruined. I’d hate to see that on that pretty axe.

After the recent 2021 post of this topic.... it's still a mystery glove.

That has to be a hand made cover sewn as a gift by somebody's partner (that last bit is just a guess).  It's like the slip cover on a chair or couch, meant to protect the original finish.  But like slip covers ... protect it from what exactly?  And when do you ever allow the protected item to go au naturel?

Or perhaps it's a very sophisticated approach to controlling the resonance of the bass?  The owner found it too lively, too bright, so it needed a mute.  8)
