Curious if the Activator pickups with Alembic written on pickup cover in script, are any different than the ones with Alembic written in non-script font.
I think script logo on the pickups is how they're currently made. Just not sure if there is a significant sound difference with ones without script logo.
Thank you

Having just in the past few weeks replaced the black script ones here with cream non script ones. I posed a similar question to which mica informed that the tops of the casing on the non script pickups are thicker than the script ones so will need to be setup closer to the strings to get the same sound volume.
So other than that, they are the same.

As I understand, AXY and MXY pickups have the same magnets with different casings and are the same regardless of lettering type. Fatboys have a wider magnet than AXY or MXY pickups. Here is a link from the FAQ page about pickup lettering for reference..

Jazzyvee, cool insight on casing thickness. :)

Thank you for the replies. I have two sets of Activators (strat sized). Both with just volume and filter (no bass and treble). One set are "Embossed", and one set are the gold script. My gold script seem louder. I believe both have the trim pot up all the way.

Like Jazzyvee said, the tops on the ones without script is thicker, so the strings are further away from the magnet and coil, and the output will be (slightly) lower even if you put the top surface at the same level. Then again, two pickups of the same type will never be 100% identical.
