Actually, just wondering if I should leave as is or add a Steal Your Face sticker…what do you all think?

Go for it, but move it toward the end a bit more... and rotate it counter-clockwise 90°.

That's a good looker!

I agree with Greg on moving it; I'd center it between tailpiece and binding.  Not sure about the rotation; I think it works either way.

Agree on moving it a little South.  Disagree on rotating it 90 degrees.  I prefer it the way you have it.

Thanks for voting…not sure yet if I will do it, but if so I will take your recommendations :)

To add to the variety of votes, while the sticker looks great on there, that bass looks too nice to put a sticker on it (but that's just me).

Thanks, David, I know what you mean, which is why I haven’t had the nerve to do it!  :)

My input above was predicated on the assumption that it would be going on; overall, I concur with Dave.

Hmmm…the tide has turned and nakedness prevails  :)

I think it looks great either way. How does it sound? I would LOVE to be able to build something like this, with 5 strings.

Pete

I thought seriously about one of these as the core for a project like that. https://reverb.com/item/174726-ibanez-artcore-agb205-5-string-bass

I asked about this when I was planning the work, Mothership response was that the connection of a five string neck to the body wouldn’t work.  But it would be cool!

Here is a link to what it sounded like with the white AXY pickups that were originally installed (through an amp and recorded with an iPhone):

I’ll have to make recordings with the Fatboys that are now in it :)

I was going to question feasibility of finding a 5-string Starfire - but looks like it might do nicely; Ibanez makes some very nice instruments!

Put the Stealie sticker on the case. Pfft! I don't know why it took me a week to solve this, Rob... sorry man, I've been busy!  ::)

Up where the headstock is at. You know where I like 'em.  ;)

Sticker - no

IMHO

Thanks for your vote!  I think I'll just stay with the no action option  :)

Wolf’s eponymous inlay began life as a sticker.   And how about Alligator?   And Phil’s bass?  The right sticker can be cool, like this extremely subtle Dead sticker I recently applied to my Alembicized Tele.

You are right of course Bill, but on rv_bass's bass, to me a sticker doesn't do it justice.

That sticker on the Tele is great!

That sticker on the Tele is great!

When I was out there in October, Bill gave me a sticker like his; I have not yet decided whether to put it in a similar place on my Tele or (more likely) on an acoustic case.

What a cool bass!  My vote is..if you want it be associated with and proclaim your enjoyment of the GD the sticker is great.  I do think the bass is damn purty.  Perhaps you could put the sticker on the back, for your enjoyment!

Paulman, that is an excellent idea, thank you for the suggestion and I will consider it :)
