Title: Peghead/headstock question
Post by: Paco del Guacho (paco) on December 09, 2002, 06:10:10 AM
I am wondering if this peghead looks proper.  It is from a 1988 Persuader (serial # 88P5017, with a quilted maple top).  I haven't seen a Persuader or Spoiler with the name "Alembic" printed on it before.  The bass looks like the real thing, but the headstock just looks odd.  I have attached a picture of the body and the headstock.  Any thoughts?.

Sometime in the late 80's(I think) they started putting the name Alembic under the symbol.  It should look the same as the logo when you log onto the main site. I don't know if some of the originals are printed but the current version is brass(?)>>unless you're getting sterling silver etc, like the logo.

The logo and script on this Persuader is bronze. The earliest Spoilers had a silver printed decal with the name Spoiler written under the logo. What a revolt that started! We quickly corrected this, and I there are fewer than a hundred like that. Persuders never had a printed decal or the model name on the bass.

I don't know the exact date we started putting the name under the logo, but I think it was the late 80s as well. Some people have had us add it on older ones, and others special order new ones without it.

Nice looking Quilted Maple.
