Sorry I've been a bit out of touch lately. I'm just letting you all know that I've been battling some chronic health issues lately and have been away from work for a good month. I should be back part time next week. I had a flare up of Graves disease (high thyroid) a couple months ago and also injured my back, so lots of physical therapy, but getting much better, looks like no back surgery needed. Whew!
My dad was also out for a while but he's back and better than ever. He finally agreed to get his aortic valve replaced in June, since he had stenosis in it since birth. When he came home after the procedure he wanted to go to work that day! We made him stay home that night, but he went in the next day for 4 hours. Short story is he's doing absolutely great, so he'll be catching up on his work over the next couple of months.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to you and your dad.

Hope you are both feeling better. Rest up and hoping for full and speedy recoveries for you both! :)
-
Excel-lent, you two certainly have what it takes to recover from those ailments. All the best for an Epic recovery for you both. 8) ;D
-
Thank you for sharing. Healing thoughts and well wishes being sent out.
-
My best wishes to you and your family, dear Mica!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to both of you!
Between you, Gregory and Peter, I'm getting kind of nervous about back issues. That would be awful to not be able to play the Signature I just got if it caused me lancing pain. I'll keep up my exercise regiment and hope I don't do something foolish...
-
(((hug))) thinking of you all.
-
Hey, thanks for the update, Mica. Wishing you BOTH a speedy recovery!
-
Thanks for the health update Mica. Really glad to hear that both you and Ron are on the mend and feeling better. I can definitely relate to the back pain thing and have been afraid to find out exactly what is going on. Wishing continued good health to everyone in the Alembic family!
-
Sending you both back all the good vibrations you’ve given the world with your incredible instruments over the years!
-
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Mica. Unfortunately, I have first-hand knowledge about back problems. My recent MRI revealed severe stenosis in my lower back and I’ve been wrestling with Kaiser to get appointments for steroid shots and PT (trying to avoid surgery at all costs!). Hoping for good health for the whole Wickersham clan.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Mica! Ron's post-surgical behavior is right on-brand. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Well, if you do end up having to have stenosis surgery, I can tell a physician to stay way far away from...... >:(
Glad you & Dad are on the mend, Mica; take care of yourselves, the world needs you!

Thanks for all your kind wishes. Like I said, dad is all better no restrictions on activities whatsoever. He is really the healthiest one in the family, just beaming and fully of energy.
I went in a few times but doc said I needed some more rest. Will be trying again next week for some part time back at the shop.
Sorry you're having Kaiser issues, Bill - I have Kaiser too, and got referral to PT in one phone call visit with doc. Be careful with the steroid shots - give mom or me a call for some details you should be aware of.
Yes, Kent, you know Ron too well. He's already come home a few times after 5:00am so you know he's feeling his best :)

Hope for a speedy recover Mica. I'm glad your Dad is doing well after his surgery. You are the best! :)

Mica,
Listen to the Dr. I have herniated discs in my back, and when they act up, it's no fun. You have to get as much rest as possible. I know that's not easy, but it will get you back faster than jumping the gun. Glad to hear your Dad is back to form. Probably what keeps him healthy!
Regards,
Pete

Mica, Sorry to hear about your health problems. As others have said take it easy and here's to a quick recovery.
It is good that your Dad is back to his old self but coming home at 5AM? What does he think he is a teenager?

Wish you all best and fast recovery to you and your family.
